I had just completed building my "Paul Sellers Design" workbench when my Mom said she wanted a porch swing where her koi pond used to be. I realized that the workbench was, in a way, a crude piece of furniture, and maybe I had the skill to make the porch swing. So I volunteered.
I designed it to fit around a crib mattress and just like the workbench, I went for the through-tenon joinery, except I added draw bores.

I made all the pieces and did a dry fit in my garage workshop. The final assembly would have to be done onsite.
Of course I was inclined to use hand tools only...

Assembly onsite consisted of:
- Gluing up rails to the leg frames
- Installing and flush cutting draw bore dowels
- Being really stressed as time was of the essence with the glue
My Mom was pretty happy with it.
